SURVIVING CLIMATE CHANGE: Zanzibar Island Fishermen’s Drive To Save Coral Reefs
The east coast of Africa is rich in coral reefs and marine life, making Zanzibar Island in Tanzania an aquatic paradise of sorts. In recent years, however, corals have been threatened by climate change, with many beginning to bleach and die. The disappearance of coral reefs also affects fishermen. To protect the ocean, a group of locals has switched from fishing to coral farming, planting corals, and giving back to nature.
